Brihadeeswarar Temple at Thanjavur in Tamil Nadu, India, is locally known as "Big Temple". It is one of the largest temples in India and it is already 1000 years old.

The temple is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site known as the "Great Living Chola Temples". These temples were all built during the Chola rule in the south of India and neighboring islands. The Chola dynasty was one of the longest-ruling dynasties in the history of southern India.
